About the Awards

More than two-thirds of Australian businesses are home based.Accountants, wedding planners, adventure tour operators and web designers are just some of the businesses that are finding huge advantages in basing themselves at home – moving out of a traditional office environment and into the spare room or to a converted garage space. Technology provides a convenient platform to advertise and conduct business away from the traditional office environment.

But it’s a tough gig, sometimes lonely, sometimes frightening and it requires initiative, courage and determination to succeed.

It is in acknowledgement of this brave step in a fast growing business sector that the Australian Home Based Business Awards have been created. About to enter their 5th year, the Awards provide an important opportunity for Australia’s home based business owners to showcase their businesses and be recognised for their achievements.

2012 nominations are now open. Entries close on Monday 2nd July 2012.

Victorian Minister for Small Business, the Hon. Mr Joe Helper, presented the Home Based Business of the Year Award to Wildly Wealthy.com’s Sandy Forster of Queensland.
